Dairy Innovation Award 2010

For the first time Verpackungsberatung C.E. Schweig participated this year in the global contest of the International Dairy Federation and received the Dairy Innovation Award 2010 in the category Best Packaging Innovation (Dairy Food) and 2. place in the category Sustainablility.

Nomination Deutscher Verpackungspreis 2010

We take great pride in our nomination for the Deutschen Verpackungspreis 2010. This award, however, focuses more on design and handling – technology and material composition are secondary components. In this setting our competitors were very strong and we are congratulating them to their success.

1. Best Practice Example for the development of sustainable packaging for organic food

Many criteria have to be considered when choosing the ideal packaging. Especially organic food has specific demands regarding the ecological and security relevant qualities of the packaging. To facilitate an easier way to evaluate packagings, BÖLW in cooperation with the Büro für Lebensmittelkunde und Qualität, FIBL Schweiz, FIBL Deutschland and Ralph Weishaupt published a guide for the packaging of organic food. Our approach regarding the development of the plastic-chalk-cup has been used as a reference project for this guide.
